Firstly I will answer your question literally- DA (which I presume you mean the 'Domain Authority' metric from Moz) is formulated solely from their determination of the quality, and quantity, of backlinks pointing towards your domain.

If your DA isn't increasing, this is because Moz doesn't deem your backlinks to be of good quality.

  1. Classified Adverts will not help with SEO.
  2. Forum posting is spammy, again will not help with SEO.
  3. Blog commenting is spammy, and it will not help with SEO.
  4. Social Media is great for getting leads, but all the links are no-follow, (meaning no link juice is passed).

Now to answer your question logically, the DA of your website DOES NOT affect your positioning on Google's search results. Stop the fixation with Moz metrics - they mean nothing!

For now, I'd stop focusing on link building and purely focus on the quality of your website. When you've mastered that, check the forum out for advanced link building methods to get (quality!) backlinks.

Facebook though has huge DA, are you saying it wont help me ?
Hi Bev, Yes, Facebook's domain is extremely powerful. But no, a backlink wouldn't help your website. Let me explain why... 1. Everybody in this world can link from their Facebook page. If everybody can do it, why would Google consider it an amazing backlink? 2. Secondly, and most importantly, all reputable Social Media platforms add rel=nofollow to their links, meaning they're telling Google to discount the link in question from their Pagerank formula (which determines how powerful a domain is from a backlink perspective). So basically, if Facebook did give out do-follow links, they'd be worthless. But they don't - which slam dunk confirms there's no positive (From an SEO perspective) to getting links from Social Media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc.
