Google Indexing wrong URL

Guys, I have a challenge in the past few months and I need help.

Previously anytime I write an article and search my main keyword, I see my post in Google Search. Normally on the second page, third page, etc

It has changed recently. Anytime I write an article, Google index the wrong page. It either shows the homepage for the article or the post will not show at all in search.

It's really keeping me off. I know how my site is and I feel something extremely is wrong.

A suggestion or guide will be appreciated.

Just from the information you have posted.....

You site stills shows up in the search, but not the page with the post, just the home page --  This to me is an indication you that you may have been hit by an algorithmic penalty of some sort.   Everything is fine one day and the next the site tanks for keywords.

Just an FYI -  This is exactly how the Penguin Algo works... it penalizes the page and not the site.  It is that granular and targeted.

So without the domain name to further examine the site, this is an educated guess as to why your rankings have plummeted.

Good advice?

Thanks for wanting to help. For example, I wrote another article yesterday and I got the same problem. In the article, my main focus keyword was "Reena Sky wiki" which I wrote lengthily. After some hours, I noticed my post was indexed but Google shows the homepage in the result instead of the post URL. Here are Screenshots of what I mean: Keyword: https://prnt.sc/xxfthx The page that appears in a search result: https://prnt.sc/xxfus2 That's my homepage: thenewsgod.com The URL of the actual post which Google should have shown is this and not the homepage: https://thenewsgod.com/reena-sky-wiki-biography-boyfriend-instagram-contacts/ This has been happening recently and all hard work seems to fall. Google always choosing the homepage for Search results instead of actually post URLs. Hope this explains better?

I looked at your backlink history.  It's rather in disarray.

In December.. you lost more dofollow links than you gain.. 260 of them.

Then in January you lost another 73 links..

When I looked at the new domains you're gettting links from, I noticed they are extremely, I do mean extremely low quality.. for instance... >>> freedirectorysite ( dot ) com

There are many more of these sites in your profile.. I suggest you get rid of them and find quality sites to replace them with.

You have been steadily building links from what I can see for over a year.  Since around Nov of 2020 you are consistantly losing more dofollow links then you're creating.

So your link building does seem to indicate a possible algo penalty.

Go clean up your backlinks and you may see improvements.  Also check your Google account to see if you have any notice for a penalty.

Good luck..

This feedback is awesome. I really appreciate it. Within my Console account, I have received no notice however with backlinking, I will definitely have to work on it. The problem now is how to get rid of low-quality sites linking to me.
