How do I report a bad site to Google?

One of my competitors is clearly following blackhat tactics. For example, all their backlinks have keyword-rich anchors texts on extremely dodgy looking websites, they are keyword stuffing keywords but changing the font color to match the white background, the list goes on. I'd like to report their website to Google, as it's clearly breaking rules. Does anybody know how to report bad sites to Google?

This is how to report a website to Google.

  1. Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport
  2. Click on the option most suitable for your situation. In your case, it'd be link schemes (paid links).
  3. Fill out you the website which is breaking Google's terms, along with the service which is brokering the links.

It should be noted, personally, I have never had any positive results from reporting (blatant) blackhat SEO from competitors, or breach of terms on Google Ads either. I'm fairly convinced nobody reads the reports, and if they do, they don't take them all that seriously - in fairness, I bet there's a lot of petty reports when competitors are concerned. You may have to wait - Google will find what they're doing and give them a swift algorithmic penalty. It's just time.

To report a phishing website to Google, use their “report phishing page.” Once you navigate there, enter the URL of the phishing page, and any comments you might have.
