why does a google search still not see my site?

At this url:
https://search.google.com/search-console/sitemaps?resource_id=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.waynehobgood.com%2F

it indicates that `/sitemap.xml` was successfully submitted yesterday.   How long before I can expect this site to be added to the search index?  Is there any discernible reason to expect that this site would not be indexed?  Is so, what might that be and how is it I would resolve that?

The sitemap was generated using the `drupal/simple_sitemap:^4.1` module at this path: `/admin/config/search/simplesitemap`.  

Should I be using some other tool on a drupal site?
