Depends on your skills, Are you a developer? content writer, graphic designer or what.

There are quite a few sites that cater to people hiring their skills but it depends on what you are offering.

Just about everything can be outsourced these days. That's why there's a strong likelihood that the skills on your résumé contain one or more freelancing opportunities.

Hi mc8molina, maybe you can start by studying. Try to equip yourself with the proper knowledge and skills needed in order to become a good freelancer. There are a lot of online courses you can choose from depending on your interests. This will also boost your confidence enough to get that first client. Good luck!

Initially answering the question to yourself: at what level are your skills? If you have good experience in the field that you want to do: register on freelance exchanges, find out the approximate cost of services and offer your services at the lowest price in the market. As you complete several orders and receive positive feedback, you can increase the price. If there is no experience, then you need to develop skills and perhaps complete 1-2 tasks for free.

My long term plan is also to be a freelancer and just work at home to have more time with my family.  What I did is that I enrolled in a freelancing course and was surprised to learn huge amount of knowledge and even making my own website.  I suggest you do the same and you will be amazed on the learnings that will be added on your skills.  Please check out the website which I did myself through this course.  Hope this helps. Thank you.

I worked in a government hospital for years now but, due to this COVID-19 pandemic, I was encourage to try freelancing because of the advantage of working at home.

First, what I did is I enrolled in a Freelancing course. In taking this course, I was able to gain more skills and build my own portfolios which is necessary when applying online.

If you are still not sure in what niche are you going to pursue, please check this article. https://lsvaservices.wordpress.com/2020/07/22/10-freelancing-skills-for-newbies/

Virtual assistant would be a good start, as long as you have basic knowledge on excel, ppt, editing photos, and can follow instructions briefly.

I am a newbie in freelancing as well, I came from the corporate world and now I am venturing in this freelancing path with zero knowledge about it from the start. There are a lot of free courses and youtube tutorial videos on how to start your freelancing career depending on your niche. But of course, if we are new to this the end result of watching all those videos and reading those freelancing tutorials is simply information overload. So what I did is I enrolled in a Freelancing Course because this offers a strategic and patterned approach in learning all those topics that I wanted to learn about freelancing. I advise you to do the same if you are one who gets overwhelmed with a lot of information like me. Research free courses offered and also the paid ones. Usually, the paid ones are the best option because it offers a lot of content, one on one coaching, and hiring opportunities upon finishing the course. I would like you to check Filipino Virtual Assistance as it offers the benefits I stated earlier. And you can check out my learnings and portfolios that I personally acquired by enrolling to Filipino Virtual Assistance, I'm taking up Freelancing Course. Here is my website https://iassistuvirtual.wordpress.com. Good luck on your journey no matter what you choose to do.
